Minister
The Church of the Covenant welcomed the Rev. Glenn Zuber as their new minister, and head of staff on September 1, 2020. Glenn is an experienced pastor, church historian, and faith entrepreneur who has served in a variety of ministry settings, both within and outside the traditional church. He enjoys incorporating the arts in worship when possible.
Most recently, he was the interim pastor at the historic Buckingham Presbyterian Church (est. 1683) in Berlin, Maryland. Earlier, he taught college and seminary classes at Fordham University, Manhattan
College, Trinity Washington University, and Wesley Theological Seminary. Other ministries have been in the D.C. area (a young adult worshipping community) and the North Carolina part of the Appalachian Mountains.
Glenn currently lives in Bethesda, MD and is writing on the spiritual aspects of Vincent van Gogh’s paintings and beliefs.
Director of Community Outreach and Christian Education
Kent Hamaker was welcomed by Church of the Covenant in October of 2021. Kent grew up in the Presbyterian church and was active in its various youth programs.
After graduating from Virginia Tech, Kent became a PCUSA Young Adult volunteer, serving in Birmingham, England in 1994-95. Upon his return, he took the first of several positions at area churches where he has spent much of his professional life in children and youth-related work. Before coming to Covenant, he expanded his professional communications and education skill sets with the Association for Healthcare Foodservice.
Kent lives in McLean, VA with his wife, Donna, and their two Maine Coon cats, Miss Fluffkins and Olivia.
